Give diners a reason to return
Connect ResDiary bookings and till sales. Win back regulars, fill quiet tables and, where a holdout is set, see which campaigns brought guests back.
Venues that use Purple WiFi include…
These are Purple WiFi customers, not Purple Engage references.
What can a restaurant do with Purple Engage?
Five ways to bring diners back: win back regulars who have stopped coming, fill quiet weekdays with offers that only work in set hours, ask diners for a score after a visit, start a journey when a ResDiary booking completes, and send a birthday offer.
- Win back lapsed regulars: each night Engage finds guests with three or more WiFi visits in the last 90 days and none in the last 30, and raises them with the evidence
- Fill quiet weekdays: offers that only redeem in a window such as Tuesday to Thursday, 2 to 5pm
- Post-visit NPS: a starter journey and survey, with answers saved to each guest's profile
- Journeys that start when a ResDiary booking completes
- Birthday and anniversary journeys, with a birthday email starter
How does Engage know who dined with you?
From the systems each diner touches. WiFi sign-ins become contacts with a visit history for each venue and show who walked in, even if they never booked. Till sales add spend, ResDiary adds bookings, and engagement stars show who is a regular and who is fading.
- WiFi sign-ins from Purple WiFi, Cisco Spaces, Cisco Meraki and Juniper Mist
- Till spend from Square, Lightspeed X-Series, Epos Now, Loyverse and Oracle Simphony
- Bookings from ResDiary, with unsubscribes sent back
- Engagement stars, from Champion to Dormant, built from human activity only
How do I bring diners back?
With journeys that start from what a guest did. A journey can wait up to 90 days for a guest to click, redeem or visit, take another path if they do not, and stop once they meet its goal. Offers carry a single-use code that staff redeem on the guest's phone, in the staff web app or at a supported till.
- Journeys started by visits, purchases, bookings and dates, with exit goals
- Single-use offer codes with redemption windows, caps and a budget that ends the offer
- Email, SMS and WhatsApp campaigns, with texts and WhatsApp sent through your own Twilio account
How do I know a campaign worked?
Where a holdout is set, Engage compares the guests a campaign was sent to with guests held back on purpose, and shows the extra share who came back, booked or bought, with a 95% range and takings for each group. The offer report shows codes issued, viewed and redeemed, and cost against budget.
- The extra share of diners who came back, booked or bought, against a held-back group, where a holdout is set
- Offer report: issued, viewed, redeemed and cost against budget, with redemptions by venue and hour

How does Engage protect your reputation and your guests' trust?
Sign-up forms are always double opt-in and keep the wording each guest saw, and guests choose topics, take a break or leave in a branded preference centre. Review requests go to every diner the same way, with no score deciding who is asked.
- Double opt-in forms that keep the consent wording each guest saw
- A branded preference centre: topics, a break, or leave
- Review requests to every diner after a visit, with the same message and nothing offered in return
Questions
Do I need guest WiFi to use Engage in a restaurant?
No. You can create your venues in Engage and bring diners in from your till, ResDiary, website forms or a CSV import. Guest WiFi adds the diners who never booked, and the visits that win-back and return-visit results rely on.
Which tills can redeem Engage offers?
Lightspeed X-Series receives codes pushed into the till. Toast and Lightspeed K-Series check codes live at the till. Square, Epos Now, Loyverse and Oracle Simphony read redemptions back from synced sales. Till redemption is a pilot the Purple team sets up with you, and like most connectors these are in beta. Without a till integration, staff redeem on the guest's phone or with the staff web app.
What does the ResDiary connector do?
Bookings and guests, with their opt-ins, flow into Engage, and unsubscribes flow back to ResDiary. A completed booking can start a journey. You need your own ResDiary API licence.
Does Engage ask every diner for a review?
Yes. Review requests go to every eligible guest after a recorded visit, by email or text, with the same message for everyone, no score deciding who is asked and nothing offered in return. Review requests are a pilot the Purple team sets up with you.
